It is great for beginner to advanced. Also each piece is discussed, translated, and IPA'd, although some of the IPA I disagree with but thats just a pedagogical difference. I recommend this book to high school and college singers as well as professionals looking for some nice pieces. Rating - classic arias all sopranos should know This book of arias is a must have for all aspiring classical music divas. The songs are technically challenging but not unattainable. I really enjoy the English synopsis. This is a good book for competitions and auditions. Rating - Ideal Singing Investment This is a great collection of early Italian songs. Unlike the 24 Italian Songs and Arias published by Schirmer, this anthology consists of original historically accurate versions of the songs,as the composer wrote them. The other book has arrangements of the songs that were not at all what the composer had written. Get this book if you are taking voice lessons or aspiring to be an opera singer/star. This is the book. The arrangements in the Yellow book--"24 Italian Songs and Arias" are really bad.
