Rating 5 out of 5 - A Warm and Sensitive Book About the Other Side
With empathy and feeling, James VAn Praagh writes on a level of understanding that most readers can experience. His discussions are clear, we follow his ideas and we rejoice in the experiences he shares as he helps others through difficult emotional losses.
A helpful book for those seeking more than the traditional religious avenues for comfort and peace.

Rating 4 out of 5 - James Van Praagh verified what I got off the Ouiji Board
For over 30 years my sister and I have communicated with the dead through the Ouiji Board. We have had many sessions providing us with information on what it was like after death -- the stages, feelings, etc. When I read Mr. Van Praagh's book, I was totally struck with his descriptions. They were the very same descriptions that we have been told over the years through the Ouiji Board. We were told about the studying level, the resting, suicide, the immediate after-life experience, the guidance and many many more that Mr. VP described.

My dad recently died and we talked with him too several times after his death. Dad described feelings and "places" to us too. His descriptions coincided with the book's. I was struck, comforted and amazed.

Who knows?

Rating 5 out of 5 - Daddy, I Know That You Are OK Now & Will Be With Me Always!
I had never heard of James Van Praagh until I watched the made-for-TV movie "Living With The Dead" starring Ted Danson. (By the way, Ted did an excellent job playing James.) I was astounded by James' ability to actually see and hear the dead. The movie told his story in such an honest and straight forward way, I was an immediate believer! When I saw "The Sixth Sense", I did not come out of the theatre the slightest bit convinced that anyone could actually see and hear the dead and felt the movie was done purely for our amusement. After seeing the movie about James, I felt spiritually touched and enlightened about many things. Unfortunately, a week after the movie aired, my father (who had been suffering with pancreatitis, emphysema, and a variety of other ailments for a number of years) passed away. I am 43 years old and this was my first death experience of an "immediate" family member. Even though my father had been in and out of hospitals most of his life and I thought I had prepared myself for his inevitable death, I was devastated. My mother stood helplessly by his bed and watched him spend his last 15 minutes leaving this life and entering the next. Then, I got the phone call from her that I had been dreading for all these years while I was at work...my father was gone. A few days after the funeral and burial, my mind went back to the movie about James and I remembered that there was a commercial break that aired which said the movie was based on a book called "Talking To Heaven". I went out and got a copy of the book. All I can say is that it eased the grief and pain I was feeling about the loss of my father tremendously. The book provided "proof" via James' encounters with the spirit world that I had only lost my father in the physical sense...I could no longer see, touch, or hear him. I am now convinced that he "is" with me in spirit...just like God (who I can't see either but have always felt His presence). My only disappointment with the book is that it gives the reader absolutely no way to contact James, even just to say "thank you". If anyone out there knows of any way to communicate with James, please let me know. If I'm really lucky, maybe James will read this and reach out himself.

After my aunt passed away, a friend recommended this book to me. This book was almost a guide book of what could be expected. Since losing my mother and all grandparents, I can honestly say that I have received a little peace.
