Rating - Worth the Money
Worth the $$ you spend on this book as a companion to, "Does This Clutter Make my [...] Look Big?"
I've tossed quite a few things in the short period that I've had the books and the books are instrumental in getting my other half to part w/the clutter of years. It gave me a strategy to deal w/hubby's need for holding onto things.
Rating - essential reading
If hoarding or total disorganisation is your struggle this book is essential reading it will change your life
Rating - Bought because it was on sale, it changed by life around.
Its a very easy read, practical, gives advise that surprisenly I have never heard anywhere before. Im not a pack rat, just not all that organized, but this book changed how I look at all my stuff. I stopped buying so much "pretty", "might someday use it", "on sale" crap and started valuing my free time, free space, altimatly free life.
Rating - Great inspiration and advice!
I bought this book after watching a show on Oprah about clutter. In my opinion this book is great because is not the typical how to organize book, it attacks clutter from the inside out. Peter talks about all the possible reasons and excuses that we have to accumulate clutter and inspire you to let go. I got so inspired by it that I donated 15 big garbage bags of clutter to a charity and I feel great because there was a lot of useful things that other people can use and I feel free from stuff that I really didn't need but was holding on to. I still follow his advice "if something comes in, something must go out" to keep clutter under control and also I've found ways to do the 3 R's (like he calls them) reuse, recycle, resell that I had never thought of before because I was so busy buying instead of finding creative ways to use what I already had. He gives a very good idea on how to get rid of kitchen stuff, put it in a box and store it for a month, if within that month you didn't have to go to the box to get something then donate everything you don't need it. I got rid of half of my kitchen utensils following his adivce and love having the extra space, my kitchen seems more organized. I don't miss any of the things I gave away and my life seems more simpler, less stress, less to clean, and more time for creativity. This book was great for me!!!
